Hello Everyone,
Here is the recap of the June 14 edition of Rocky 104.9's weekly local music program, "The Homegrown Rocker," which airs every Sunday night from 8 to 10 PM on WRKY-FM (www.rocky1049.com).
Thanks to our band guests this week, Altoona heavy rockers This Calling (www.myspace.com/thiscallingcentralpa), for a full-throttling, informative and insightful two hours! We met the band members, learned their story, and heard tunes off their just-released debut CD, Witness The Fall. Three lucky listeners called in to win their own copies! In addition, we updated Local Music News, played new songs by Inside Out and After The Fall, reviewed Ted McCloskey’s One Night Bland CD in “The Professor’s CD Corner,” and flashed back to 1991 to hear a tune by Todd Giornesto and his New York band, Beyond Reason, for a Local Music Flashback.
Here is this week's playlist:
HOUR ONE:
PIVOT – “Redefine”
SOLEGION – “Lord of All”
THIS CALLING – “Witness the Fall”
INSIDE OUT – “Demons Inside”

The area lost a live music venue this past week when fire early Friday destroyed the Anchor Inn near Prince Gallitzin State Park. The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical in nature. The building is a total loss. The building had recently changed owners. There is no word on if the owner plans to rebuild.
The annual Day Of Rock benefit concert for Easter Seals of Blair County is set to take place this coming Saturday, June 20, at Shawnee Park in Roaring Spring. The show will kick off at high noon, and feature performances from Fayted, Blackout, Spirit Lost and other bands. Tickets are $10 in advance, or $15 at the door. Food will be available for purchase.
And the "Homegrown Rocker" extends speedy get well wishes to Tony Mollick of The Tony Mollick Project, on the mend after a heart attack last week. Tony is continuing to play dates with the band while he recovers.
