I am probably an idiot for thinking about this, but as a father, owner of a small business, and watching so much crap go on in the government I am seriously looking into running for a State Congress position. I am looking for advice from people who have tried to do this or have inside knowledge on the process ... the signatures, the paperwork, etc... Regrettably I also know that to get anywhere I will have to choose to be either a Republican or a Democrat. Personally I believe this country needs to develop real 'Other' parties, but that won't happen in my lifetime, so I will have to submit to that evil.
A lot of you will laugh, make funny comments, and Sayten, please, I do need some good graphics to go along with this, so have at it!
Elections are now about Image Over Substance, just like MTV. Why not take a musician and make a politician? It might work.
So if you have experience and would like to share it with me, please contact me here.
I am fricking sick and tired of Rendell, Obama, Propoganda, and paying over half my income on Taxes. And yes - all of you are paying the same price, if you are lucky enough to still have a job. The gloves are coming off.
Rock this vote biotches.

Sounds great dude. It seems the federal government is too far gone anyway. Maybe we should just try to save our individual states. Well, if you're considering this, you're starting to do your research far enough ahead that you can find all this stuff out before the signature gathering phase starts next Jan. or Feb...assuming we have a country left by then. Contact me; you know who I am and our group can help.

Well hear it is. I was from Philly and started as a machine operator. Then committee man, and then a ward leader. I was working my way up the latter some say to fast, but I got the job done. I wanted to run for other offices but did not want to drag my family through the mess that will sure to come with mud throwing.
First thing you do contact the committee of 70, or call Harrisburg and someone will guide you to the right place. You need to have petitions filled out and need a certain number to move on. AND DO NOT MAKE ANY PROMISES THAT YOU CAN NOT KEEP. You say you will try the best you can. People know when you are lying and get caught then you are sunk. You need people to trust you. Get out, knock on doors, show up at anything that people will be at.
Church, super markets, malls, etc. Pres the flesh and hand out a small flier with some info about you and no more. Need someone on you staff let me know. There is a whole lot more I can tell you. Some good some bad. Most of all you need something the people want.
