I actually thought McCain had a shot of winning this thing until he chose Sarah Palin as his running mate...Palin, by the way, has 2 years of experience as the governor of a politically-corrupt state where polar bears and moose outnumber humans by a wide margin. Might as well just hand Obama the keys to the White House right now and spare America the nonstop media blitzkreig of bullshit that happens every 4 years (and I dont mean the Olympics).
I'm no political strategist, but seeing as Pennsylvania is a critical battleground state with 21 electoral votes up for grabs, McCain wouldve been wise to choose a republican with Pennsylvania roots, like Tom Ridge or Rick Santorum. At least Joe Biden was born and raised in Scranton. But no, McCain, in an obvious attempt to sway disenfranchised Hillary supporters, had to choose an ultra-conservative political neophyte from a state that's geographically closer to Russia than to the rest of America. Let's face it, who gives a flying fuck about Alaska anyway? Alaska shouldnt even be a part of these United States if you ask me. The place is so remote that the sun doesnt even shine there for 6 whole months out of the year. It's a god-forsaken wasteland inhabited by people who live in huts made out of snow and ice, who ride around in dog-drawn sleds and eat whales. Great choice, McCain. And lest we forget that Alaska is just a stone's throw away from Russia? McCain shouldve picked Yakov Smirnoff as his vp instead. Or a garbageman. Or a tollbooth operator. Or a middle school gym teacher. Or an unwed single mother highschool dropout. I'm sure any of those choices wouldve been better than a 2-year Alaskan governor. Maybe if McCain wins, he can appoint the mayor of Honolulu as the Secretary of State and Judge Judy to the US Supreme Court!

Well Alaska is on my list of places to see before I die, right after Siberia, Saskatchewan, Greenland, and a shitload of other places no one in the civilized world gives a rat's ass about.

She is the only one of the three with Executive experience..... you think she was a bad pick? What about Obama? Where's his experience? Seems to be working so far for the media.... I mean the Liberals.

I'm certainly not supporting Obama, much for the same reason. But I think choosing Palin as a running mate will go down as one of the biggest blunders in political history. I would gladly choose executive experience over senate experience, however I highly doubt that being the mayor of a small Alaskan town and a one-term governor of a state with 700,000 people is any kind of qualification to hold the vice presidency.
And what about the accusations about her personal character? She has a pregnant teenage daughter, an ex-husband, and enough skeletons in her clost to make John Edwards look like Captain Kangaroo. Youre telling me she was the best of what was available? There are over 40 other governors in this country with more experience.
McCain's choice exemplifies his biggest flaw as a presidential candidate. He panders in order to get the approval of others....something he's done in his entire senate career, and something he's doing in his presidential campaign. So I say stick a fork in him, he's done.

I still disagree... I think the baseless attacks on her will backfire on the left and the media.... I think the decision was brilliant and people are tired of these career politicians (including McCain) that have been in Washington for years and haven't done crap. I guess we'll know in about 9 weeks.

Oh I'm just kinda hoping too.... but I think the phenomenon known as Barrack Obama is being portrayed by the media a lot bigger than it really is. I think it's gonna be tight but I wouldn't bet either way.... as a conservative, she helps a little and I like McCain as a man but wasn't too happy with his nomination. But I believe anyone is better than the most Liberal congressman in the Senate.

Todd Palin is a commercial fisherman. not a petroleum company employee.
The election is going to be tighter because of Palin, she does bring something to the McCain campaign. And she's a MILF. Soon a GILF. (granny), and I kinda got wood the other night watching her talk.
THe part that sucks is McCain only wants her for the election - after that he'll close his office door to her unless he needs something. As opposed to Bush/Cheney. With the current scenario, its the exact opposite. Haliburton gets to run the country, and they just pull GW when they need a favor.
Make no bones about it. Its about a country who's economy is tied to the military. We are a war machine. McCain will keep that rolling. Barack may try to do something about it, until a lone gunman gets to the grassy noll. The president is simply a figurehead puppet for the American public. Decisions are made behind boardroom doors - not in Washington. Taxes are made in Washington. News is made in Washington. Jobs are made in Wars. Jobs pay Taxes. Washington only thrives because of taxes. No One there generates a useable good or product. I'm voting for Palin because she's a hottie. Any other reason would be a lie. And it's as good a reason as voting for Obama 'cuz you think he might cause 'Change' or McCain 'cuz you think he might try to keep taxes down. F_ck 'em. They all work for the same bosses. At least one gives me a hard-on.

Todd Palin was born in Dillingham, Alaska to Blanche Kallstrom and Jim Palin. His grandmother, Helena Andree, is Yup'ik (indigenous peoples of Alaska). In 1988, he married his high school sweetheart, Sarah Heath in a courthouse ceremony to save her parents the costs of a wedding. Two retirees from a frontier home across the street served as witnesses. Mr. Palin has taken some college courses but does not have a degree.
Palin is a union member belonging to the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union (United Steelworkers). For 18 years, he worked for BP in the North Slope oil fields of Alaska. In 2007, in order to avoid a conflict of interest, he quit his job as production supervisor when his employer became involved in natural gas pipeline negotiations with his wife's administration. In addition to his duties as First Gentleman, he is a commercial salmon fisherman at Bristol Bay on the Nushugak River.

So Todd is a fisherman, enjoys snowmobiling, and was married in front of a district justice to Sarah, who's teenage daughter is knocked up. Where the f*%k did McCain find her, standing in the checkout line at a Wal-Mart?

Voting for McCain because Palin is on the ticket would be like buying a ticket to a Hannah Montana concert because Jimi Hendrix was on guitar. No matter how great Hendrix is, he would be forced to play Montana's crappy tunes. Herein lies the problem for Sarah Palin. How can a principled conservative support the policies and actions of an unprincipled globalist such as John McCain? As Vice President, Palin will be required to promote and defend McCain's big-government, liberal, and globalist plans. For example, what will she do when John McCain proposes amnesty for millions of illegal aliens, which he is certain to do? What will she do when McCain proposes to close gun shows, or at least the private sale of firearms at gun shows? What will she do when he proposes to increase federal spending for abortion providers (which he has done numerous times as senator)? What will she do when he promotes federal spending for embryonic stem cell research? What will she do when John McCain proliferates Bush's police state machinations by expanding the Patriot Act and similar legislation? What will Palin do when McCain decides to nuke Iran (and who knows what else), not only without a Declaration of War by Congress, but also without provocation or justification? What will she do as John McCain expands the Security and Prosperity Partnership with Canada and Mexico? What will she do as McCain opens the door of the NAFTA superhighway and the North American Union? What will she do as John McCain allows the United Nations to dictate and manipulate America's foreign policy? Let's face it: John McCain is using Sarah Palin as inducement to trick conservatives into accepting his liberal, big-government, globalist candidacy. Sadly, it is working. He's also hoping to pick up some of the Hillary women and possibly even *some* of the Ron Paul patriots, except for the most part, we will not vote for any candidate that's in the Council on Foreign Relations...that means both McCain and Obama are out...we're too well-informed now to vote for evil. BTW, Gov.Palin meets with AIPAC firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2008/09/02/1327325.aspx Just making sure she knows who the boss is.

No kidding - Jimi is really going to be touring with Hannah? Man I need to get tix. Cuz I would pay to see Hendrix play Hannah's crap. You just know somewhere, somehow, he would a generate just the right amount of feedback at just the right frequency for Hannah's brains to liquify, causing her to chant unendless loops about her devotion to the Disney Empire to a mass audience of transfixed and utterly disturbed 12-15 year olds. This in turn could cause the demise of the Disney controlled mass-media, and just maybe, if we all got lucky, people all around our great country would think with their minds rather than with their remotes. Now I need to know, Why didn't McCain pick Hannah to be his running mate?
