You'd think that H-burg would have a slammin coffeehouse somewhere downtown by now. In Lancaster there is Prince Street which I love and Square One (eh) and Coffee Co up on Manhiem Pike, which is the shiznit and Dosie Dough which is double Shiznit! But, here there ain't much. Cornerstone in Camp Hill is cool and that's usually where I go when I'm home. I like the atmosphere and the coffee is ok. But it seems d-town in the burg is starving for a good coffeehouse.
Actually, I saw one up off third Street across from some church. Does anyone know this one? It's not actually third, but close. Looked pretty cool. AND New Cumberland would be a cool place for one as well. Yea, there's one going into NC, but I didn't care for it much.
I ain't into the madhouse of Starbucks either. That's not a great place to hang. Plus, I'd rather give my $$$ to the local guy than Starbucks.

Sheetz .... my taste buds are gone anyway....
and you are correct about downtown... it's all a matter of space... you'd think it would do pretty well up on third near the capitol....

There's a place not far from the Lemoyne Turkey Hill that's good. It's on 3rd street or Bridge street.. Whichever it's called there.. Good coffee and pretty girls. A winning combination.

There have been tons of attempts at running coffee houses on 3rd street across from the capitol. None have lasted more than a few months, and at least one had really good coffee.
Crimson Frog in New Cumberland has the best around (IMO).

Add St. Thomas Roasters in Linglestown, although not in the city, has taken the #1 spot for me. Fresh roasted, on site, good prices. I haven't had any of their espresso drinks, but the drip coffee was great.
I picked up a lb of Ethiopian Yergacheffe that was roasted the day prior for $12. He's got lots of SO coffees and a St. Thomas blend that I'm going to pick up today using 3 different beans with different roast profiles - should be interesting.
