OK... so most people probably are going to open this thread cuz they want to know what schwarma is...
While visiting Ontario, my friend introduced me to it. It's a Mediterranean wrap basically... you can get it with chicken or beef or veggie. It's got lettuce and cucumbers and turnips and peppers and hummus (if you want) and more stuff in it, and then it's grilled. It's very yummy and I've been craving it ever since I got back to the states!!
Does anyone know of anywhere in the Central PA region that I could get schwarma??

Lots of the Middle Eastern & Mediterranean countries have the same foods do to mediterranean trade in years gone by so I would think that you (Kristie) should try a Middle Eastern spot I just saw one the other day when driving but can not for the life of me remember where it was!? ugh! (getting old)

LoL well this ALMOST helps me! Are you talking about the Lebanese (sp?) place, Cedars? What was great was that all over Hamilton and Mississauga they had places like Pita Nutsy that specialize in Schwarma (or however you spell it). Middle Eastern sammich it may be, but it's also a Mediterranean wrappy pita yummy thing.

the Shawarma is a fancy word for a Gyro basically.... There are many different takes on it due to the fact that people obviously can't spell (John)
I'd like to give a shout to my always tan friends at MIT for showing me that yummy goodness! (years ago)

There is a mediterannean restaurant on Progress Ave in Harrisburg. It's within the plaza that contains Subway and Pizza Hut. I think it is called "The Pita Stroller"
