this move makes absolutely no sense to me. Romney to Endorse McCain Feb 14 02:01 PM US/Eastern By LIZ SIDOTI Associated Press Writer PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - AP Video Republican campaign dropout Mitt Romney agreed Thursday to endorse Sen. John McCain for the party's presidential nomination and ask his national convention delegates to swing behind the party front-runner, according to officials familiar with the decision. Romney collected 280 delegates during his run through the early primaries and caucuses, more than enough to put McCain over the 1,191 needed to clinch the nomination. you can read the rest here: www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=D8UQ91D01&show_article=1

The Ron Paul Revolution Needs Leaders Like You February 15th, 2008 by Dan McCarthy
Field coordinator Adam de Angeli sends this important message about the stakes in this race and a strategy to win. With Mitt Romney’s surrender, his delegates everywhere and his voters in states that have yet to cast their ballots are up for grabs. Through the Precinct Leader program, we have a good shot at grabbing them:
The events of the previous weeks tell an interesting tale. The second-place candidate, Mitt Romney, exited the race and endorsed McCain, thereby declaring that his differences with McCain weren’t as important as choosing a winner now, rather than at the convention.
An interesting choice: he not only forfeited the race for his own supporters, he tacitly admitted that he did this intending to sabotage our campaign and Mike Huckabee’s.
Think about it: Mitt Romney, by ending his campaign and knowing, going even so far as SAYING, that the purpose was to end the race, has essentially tried to sacrifice conservatives’ positions on illegal immigration, the right to bear arms, sound money, and non-interventionist foreign policy. That was, at least, the intent.
In contrast, Dr. Paul is staying in the presidential race, fighting for his congressional seat as well, and raising the stakes with word of a march on Washington.
This puts Romney’s supporters in an interesting position. They can either heed his commands and join McCain, thereby sacrificing their issues in the same way, or they can vote for a candidate who unflinchingly defends every principled conservative position. Or they can choose not to vote at all. What they choose to do depends on the actions of our volunteers.
We offer our strategy: the Precinct Leader program. With little cost but some effort on your part, nothing is more effective than canvassing. It is tried and true. The Precinct Leader program also does something else: it puts you in touch with all of the other Precinct Leaders in your county. This is political organizing at its best: immediate access to all of the most informed and determined people in your area.
There’s something else that sets the Precinct Leader program apart from the others, too. The Precinct Leader program is managed by the Ron Paul campaign. The grassroots have made incredible achievements all year round, but if you aren’t careful, you don’t know what you’re paying for, or who you’re supporting. We aren’t the only group that would like a database of Ron Paul supporters, and you may want to run a WHOIS check on some of those other websites before you follow their instructions.
There are a lot of well-funded pied pipers out there. The best way to steer clear of them is to take goal-oriented action. Right now, our goal is turning out supporters so Ron Paul can take back his party and take back the country. Only you can make that happen. Join the Precinct Leader program today.
