So Stuart of Ceoltas is again closing down 2nd street - this time for a Guinness and Jazz festival. Apparently (and oddly enough) jazz is quite popular in Ireland. My pipe band is opening the show, as we did for the Guinness and Oyster Festival back in October (which, subsequently is September 15th this year)
I mentioned to him that as far as I knew, there was a pretty small group that likes Jazz in the area, but being that the other half of the festival revolves around Guinness it would probably be a success.
Any of you guys know some good local Jazz bands? I've always enjoyed watching, but can't consider myself a fan.

You might want to contact Central Pennsylvania Friends of Jazz. Also try Bob Welsh at Jump Street (rwelsh@jumpstreet.org). He's a very well known and respected musician in the region who has many contacts with amazing artisits.
I've seen many an amazing jazz show at Garrason's Tavern. They could also point you in the right direction. Believe it or not, this area is pretty rich with jazz artisits.

IT was pretty good, perfect weather. Sound was decent. People were old but happy. Til the evening when Middletons and BTM rocked the street. That was good. All in all a nice event.

I got f*ed beyond belief - I love when the pipe band drinks on the house all day - looking forward to the Guiness and Oyster in September...
