You might not care, but the anti-gay marriage ammendmant didn't fly. This is a great thing. I know I don't want to have my Constitution reflect anything that resembles prejudice. I'm not gay (well, I might be a lezzie trapped inside the body of a man..) but I do know some gays who are affected by this legislation.
Now if we can get them to stop the wasting their efforts on other inneffective legislation (War on Drugs) that criminalizes people who have NOT hurt anyone, maybe we can put that money into education and environmental protection so we can have educated 'products' of a clean, safe environment. Just a thought.

There are laws on the books already about what is a marriage. The problem is with liberal judges that twist the law. Gays only want the legal right to have insurance, medical coverage and other items that come with a lawfull "marriage" Perhaps we just need to call it something else for them to have a legal relationship. I have no problem with them having something similar to a marriage. I do have a problem with it being called a marriage.
It may seem trivial to have this item come up in the Senate with everything else going on. However you willl see a bunch of this stuff coming out as an attempt to get members on record with a vote. This will all be used in the fall election campaigns. Agree or disagree with the tatics, it is a good way to see where people stand on issue vs talking out both sides of their mouths.
Earlier this week Democrats defeated the elimination of the "Death Tax" aka the Estate Tax. They said it would only benefit a few, mainly the wealthy. (Typical Dem. bullshit) Well when my parents and grandparents died, we had to deal with estate taxes and we were by no means wealthy.

As a person involved in the education arena, you can not put more money in education and not in to drug prevention. Drug use in middle school and high school is running out of control. You may say weed and other "soft-core" drugs are not that dangerous, but its effects on education and productivity are very well documented.
As far as gay marriage goes..Call it a civil union, give them benefits and keep the republican god bullshit out of my government. I don't care if you are indy, green, reform, demo, or repub...I am sick of everyone in an elected postion acting like they have a direct phone line to a "god". Just like stem cell research. We can not have action against an unborn child in the name of progression and research, but we sure as fuck can bomb countries and the innocents are casualties of war? Give me a break. I am fine with what we did in Iraq, I just owld like to see us get out.
Taxes are taxes and there will always be this tax and that tax and it will always change. I personally could care less about the tax credit from Bush because I have not see tax money in 8 years. Plus if you take a tax away, that means funding for something has to get cut.

It has to start in the home by setting limits for their childrens actions... I can promise you that my daughters will have every opportunity to expand their minds... to a limit... if they cross over that limit they will incur the wrath of sayten..... and that will not be pretty.... I am never pretty.....

I agree with you 100%.
Too many families use the TV or Xbox as a baby sitter. There is no doubt that your children will have good minds. For every ounce of a pain in the ass you are, you are educated and not a "google fact junkie". Those are the ones who google a topic, read 3 pages and make assumptions......
Oh well..this has gotten off topic (yet again).

You may say weed and other "soft-core" drugs are not that dangerous, but its effects on education and productivity are very well documented. Legalize and regulate softcore drugs. If you make it open for people to have something in their hands, they will have a greater understanding of the effects and act more responsibly. BTW, I did plenty of drugs in high school and still graduated with honors. I may be the exception to the rule.

ok i will make everyone a deal. I will take your crack and sell it, and make sure there are no more crack killings, just me making a killing on crack!!!
as for the Gay Marriage, I think Spike Venom and cobra are having some problems in thier marriage..
Leave it to this dickhead to try and liven things up..
MARIJUANNA will never be legal. People will get around the taxation and regulation by growing it themselves. So I guess in turn we will keep smoking illegally and paying fines. that is our taxation of the green..
Off to listen to some KMK biatches..
