.....it seems more politically motivated.......I do know that the average urban black man is getting really tired of the policies of our govt.....from keeping my ear to the ground.... Riot Breaks Out @ dead prez Concert Last post 02-15-2008, 1:45 PM by Rusty Shackleford. 6 replies. 02-15-2008, 1:10 PM 19295109 Rusty Shackleford Riot Breaks Out @ dead prez Concert Police said a band called the Dead Presidents was playing at Evergreen State College when a fight broke out within the crowd at about 1:30 a.m. As a campus police officer responded and tried to make an arrest in the brawl, she was surrounded by a crowd of concert-goers. Police said as she struggled to remove the man from the crowd, the band onstage started playing a song called “F___ the Police,” and the audience became increasingly agitated and combative. Washington State Patrol Trooper Brandy Kessler said the crowd surrounded the officer’s car, demanding for the arrested man to be released. The officer called for backup. Thurston County deputies responded and removed the campus officer from her car and released the arrested man. When a deputy’s car failed to start, the crowd overturned it, breaking out windows and ripping the car apart. Officers were pelted with rocks during the melee. Officials said a deputy's laptop computer and a radar gun were stolen. No weapons were lost. Troopers and a Thurston County SWAT team dispersed the crowd. No further arrests were made. One officer was hurt by pepper spray in his eyes. www.kirotv.com/news/15310821/detail.html?rss=sea&psp=news

......what were you doing at that school? fixing a flat?........
there were a couple of other articles and posts about the whole scenario when I was reading, some of the people there (and in a lot of areas) were talking about the elite and anti-govt stuff and saying it had to do with the political message in the music as to why there was an argument/fight and it spilled over to violence against the establishment.............I think it had something to do with the New Cumberland masonic lodge (how dare I?!)......just kidding.....just kidding.......fuck you (um that part is from a song Jeff....not aimed at you directly)

With songs like "Pimp the System", "50 in the Clip" and "They School".... it's easy to see how these revolutionary Gangster Rappers have influenced a bunch of retards to riot against the government and the elite. Since George Bush or any federal government representatives weren't available, they decided to assault a local police officer... we all know how closely connected the Washington State police and the elite are.
By the way, it's Dead Prez.... gotta show mad respect yo.
"Fixing a flat".... is that a dig at what I do for a living or something?

Here is a better full story:
"Four patrol cars damaged at Evergreen State College – Jeremy Pawloski, Christian Hill and Venice Buhain, The Olympian
OLYMPIA — Thurston County Sheriff’s Lt. Chris Mealy said detectives expect to identify and file charges against the rioters who damaged four patrol cars outside a hip-hop concert by Dead Prez at The Evergreen State College early Friday morning.
The rioters caused between $35,000 and $50,000 in damage to the four patrol cars, including one that was overturned and “totaled,” Mealy said. Between 200 and 500 concertgoers at the campus-sponsored event were involved in the riot, Mealy said.
The destroyed patrol car alone will cost $25,000 to replace, Mealy said.
Mealy said Thurston County detectives are in the early stages of gathering evidence, but they hope to review video to identify the people who damaged the patrol cars.
Sheriff Dan Kimball said detectives know there is video footage of the riot taken by news media, as well as by concertgoers — on cell phones or on digital cameras. “We will get it,” he said.
Detectives are issuing subpoenas to witnesses to obtain evidence, Mealy said.
Physically damaging or disabling an emergency vehicle constitutes first-degree malicious mischief, a Class B felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
Evergreen Vice President for Student Affairs Art Costantino said that if evidence emerges that Evergreen students were involved in the vandalism, they could face discipline for violating the student-conduct code, in addition to possible criminal charges.
Evergreen officials said Friday that Dead Prez is a popular hip-hop group that attracted audience members from the region who are not Evergreen students. About 500 students and 400 nonstudents bought tickets; a man who was arrested was not a student at the college, Costantino said.
Alcohol is not allowed during student-sponsored events, according to campus policy; it was unclear Friday whether any concertgoers were drinking.
Costantino said he talked to many Evergreen students Friday who were upset about the actions of concertgoers who damaged the patrol cars and felt it was inappropriate. When the patrol car was flipped, Costantino said, some concertgoers were trying to stop it, while others were egging the participants on.
A laptop computer was taken from one of the damaged patrol cars, but Mealy said it did not contain sensitive data, such as driver’s license or Social Security numbers.
During the riot, “Deputies were being shouted at that it was a racial issue,” Mealy said.
During the Port of Olympia protests in November, a large contingent of Evergreen students was among the people arrested by Olympia police after attempting to block military vehicles as they attempted to return to Fort Lewis. Police used pepper spray to disperse some of the protesters.
Costantino said the port protests in November have influenced students’ attitudes toward police.
“I think that the relationships with police were polarized, for whatever reason, because of the port protests,” he said.
Kimball said the sheriff’s office does not want to blame the school for Friday’s riot, although he did say the school needs to re-evaluate its security for campus events. College officials said the school plans to review such policies as a result of the riot.
On campus, students expressed concern Friday afternoon about how news of the riot will reflect on the reputation of the college.
“Evergreen prides itself on its reputation as an institution that promotes social justice and social responsibility,” said Charles Loosen, a Geoduck student union representative. “Riots on campus defeat our mission of uplifting the world.”
It is too early to tell what the overtime costs will be for the sheriff’s office, Mealy said. They will include the costs of deploying the civil response team, and for detectives who were working overtime on Friday, he said.
Timeline
Here’s the chronology of events as the performance of the hip-hop group Dead Prez was winding down at the College Recreation Center, according to witnesses interviewed by The Olympian:
Security volunteers received a report that a man near the front of the stage was smoking marijuana and approached him. The unidentified man became hostile, one his friends punched a security volunteer and a fight broke out between his friends and security volunteers.
The security volunteers got control of the situation, but a second fight began outside the venue. Once it was brought under control, three of the five assailants left, but one — not the man security volunteers initially approached — slipped back into the concert.
The security volunteers had called campus police, and a lone officer arrived and arrested the man inside the concert venue. She escorted the handcuffed man to her police car, followed by about 50 concertgoers.
She placed him inside the police car and began taking witness statements. The growing crowd began taunting and spitting on the officer and pelting her with garbage.
“Some people blocked the police car that was trying to take the student away,” said Dan Hilden, a 20-year-old Evergreen student who attended the concert.
The officer had called for backup before 1:30 a.m. The six Thurston County sheriff’s deputies reported that several people in the crowd were throwing rocks, bottles and even a garbage can at them, and others were grabbing at the deputies’ guns, Chief Criminal Deputy Jim Chamberlain said.
One police car driven by a deputy was overturned onto its roof, its windows broken, graffiti scrawled all over it. Rioters took from the car a laptop and a radar gun; they haven’t been recovered. No weapons were taken.
The arrested man was released after authorities took down his name and address. Chamberlain said that was the right decision because of the escalating unruly behavior of the crowd.
Riot police from the State Patrol and sheriff’s office arrived at the scene, and the crowd quickly dispersed. Hilden said authorities used pepper spray to disperse the crowd. No other arrests were made. Members of the sheriff’s “civil response team” trained to deal with riot control responded, along with the State Patrol, Olympia police and Tumwater police, Mealy said.
Kimball said about 40 law enforcement officers were there at the height of the riot.
Deputies suffered minor injuries that didn’t require hospitalization or major treatment, Chamberlain said.
Incitement Alleged
Police might look at whether Dead Prez incited the crowd to riot during an attempted arrest of a concertgoer.
“They antagonized the whole situation and made it 10 times worse than it needed to be,” said Justin Weaver, one of the security volunteers who was attacked by two men outside the venue. He also is a member of Hip Hop Congress, which sponsored the concert.
When the police officer arrived at the concert, he said, the hip-hop group incited the crowd to chant, “F—- the police,” he said.
During the rioting outside, Weaver said, the hip-hop group was performing an a cappella cover of Bob Marley’s “Burnin’ and Lootin’.”
Noah Theeman-Lindberg, an Evergreen student and member of Hip Hop Congress, denied that the hip-hop group played a role in inciting the crowd.
Efforts to reach representatives of Dead Prez were unsuccessful Friday.
Campus police Sgt. Darwin Eddy refused Friday afternoon to identify the man who was arrested, saying, “I don’t have the authority to release that, and I’ve got to call a concerned parent.”
He did say the case would be forwarded to prosecutors for review.
Hip Hop Congress organized three prior hip-hop concerts in the past four months, including Seattle-based hip-hop group Blue Scholars and rapper Rahzel. Weaver said they’ve never had a problem. Dead Prez made about $10,000 from the concert, Weaver said. “We’ve had the biggest hip-hop year this year,” Rozell Townsend, another member of Hip Hop Congress. “I would hate for this to taint that.”
